February is on its way out....

I do enjoy how the number of daylight hours continues to grow even though it means another month is slipping away. The sunlight gives me more energy. Though I’m already dreading when we ‘fall back’ in March. Loosing that hour always bothers me.

We had a wonderful ‘cowgirl’ birthday party for our granddaughter yesterday.  Everyone was to come dressed as cowgirls and cowboys. Though it took some ‘dusting off’ of clothes hanging in the closet, Papa and I managed to attend in the requested style.

Stop over at Sweethearts of the West for a bit of information about the love life of President Andrew Jackson and his wife Rachel. There’s also an excerpt from Inheriting a Bride and a chance to win a paperback copy.

The class I’m teaching for Community Ed has been so much fun! My students are all writing very unique stories, and I’m learning as much as I’m sharing.

My niece, who was married last summer, was featured in the local newspapers Wedding Showcase this week. I shed a tear reading the article. Such wonderful memories!

I’m deep into a new story. Set in Alaska during the great gold rush at the end of the 1800’s, I’m learning so much about what took place then and loving every minute of it. Herione Maddie is the daughter of an outlaw looking for a way to leave her past behind, and hero, Cole, self named Lucky, is looking for his future. They’re really butting heads right now.

Embrace every day. You’ll be amazed by what’s happening!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We woke up to several more inches of snow this morning. A blessing for the ground when it all melts, but don’t ask my son to be happy about it. It took him over four hours to get to work, which usually only takes 50 minutes or so.

Since I will be teaching my community ed class tonight, DH and I have to no great plans for Valentine’s day. However, I do believe he plans on grilling (no, the snow doesn’t stop him, and I noticed the steaks he’d bought yesterday in the fridge this morning). I offered to watch the grandgirls so the kids could go out on Friday evening, and am looking forward to the fun the three of them have while playing together.

On Monday, Feb. 18th, I’ll have a special valentines post happening over at Cowboy Kisses Blog, and it includes a give away of Inheriting the Bride so pop on over there next week.

Be someone’s special valentine today! Even just a smile will work!

Time Flies....

I apologize. I had not realized it had been so long since I posted a blog. Time does seem to fly by doesn’t it?

Lots going on around here. Look at this…a loose tooth! This picture was a couple of weeks ago. That tooth is now gone and the one beside it is loose. And my granddaughter is so very excited about it. We will be celebrating another granddaughter’s birthday later this month and Papa bought her the most spectacular purple cowgirl boots—full of bling. We can hardly wait for her to open them. I bought her the entire little cowgirl outfit to go with it, hat and all. She loves to play dress up, so I know the presents will be well used.

Did you watch the super bowl? The Budweiser new colt commercial stole my heart. The best!

The class I’m teaching for Community Ed is so much fun! Last week we dug deep into knowing your genre, and this week we are focusing on plotting.

I’m in the mix of edits and writing—two of each. Editing two, and writing two. Some days I feel a bit dizzy, and I do hope to get at least one of the edits done this weekend. It will be a busy one. Saturday is family day at my brother’s house and Sunday our granddaughter has a gymnastics meet.

Next release….February 19th the mass market paperback of Inheriting the Bride will be released! The ebook version will be released March 1st.

Here’s the blurb:

He'll get beneath every delicious layer of her disguises...

Kit Becker travels to Nevadaville prepared to use any pretense necessary to discover why she must share her inheritance, and with whom.

Clay Hoffman knows a thing or two about money-grabbing females, so when he finds one posing as his new ward, he's determined to get beneath every delicious layer of her disguises. Discovering she's telling the truth, Clay is torn--he should be protecting her, not thinking about making her his bride! All he knows for sure is that he's inherited a whole heap of trouble!

That’s enough for now…Have a wonderful week, and wear a smile with pride.
