ACHOO...

Yep, that’s what has been going on around here. So far DH hasn’t caught it, and I hope he doesn’t. The cold weather has kept his shop doors opening and closing. I on the other hand, had to finally and most reluctantly, take to my bed last week. It was one of those nasty bugs that drags a person down. Even Bear, granddog extraordinaire, felt sorry for me and crawled up on the bed to snuggle. Bless his yellow-lab heart. I’m happy to say I’m on the mend, and therefore, running behind. Although I’m making good progress on the third roaring twenties story, where Twyla and Forrest are having a blast flying around in his 1920’s airplane, I have some catching up to do. Thanks goes out to my darling brother Norman for answering a few antique plane questions the other day when I barely had a voice to ask them!

So, a few things have happened during my down-under-the covers-days…

Chapters have continued to be released for The Stolen Kiss on Harlequin’s website. There’s an online discussion happening if you’re interested in joining in. 

The Major’s Wife was released on Saturday, and continues to hang around at the number one slot for Harlequin Historicals at Amazon. Thank you all for being such wonderful and dedicated readers! I so appreciate each and every one of you!

The Wild Rose Press has released The Quinter Bride Series in a boxed set! Now you can get all five stories at once for one low price! I still get emails, got one just today, asking if there will be more books in this story. People want to know about Ma. I can’t say yeah or nay right now, but maybe someday. 

I received the cover art for my May 1^st released, Never Tempt a Lawman. No blurb yet, but I will post it when I get it. 

Other happenings around here include me, on ONE of the coldest days of the year (we’ve had so many below zero days they’ve merged together to form at least a month I’m sure) I managed to lock myself out of my car—while it was running! There I was with fifty pounds of dog food in my arms, and no extra set of keys in my purse. Thank goodness for our wonderful local police department! 

We also had a surprise visit from one of my nieces and her lovely family on Saturday. Bear was ecstatic to have BOYS to throw the ball for him and ran until he collapsed on his doggie bed in pure satisfaction. (He’s been missing his master and number one human who is in North Carolina for work right now.)  And we had a super bowl party with lots of food to capture our attention far more than the game did. I will add the Budweiser puppy/horse commercial won my heart.

Now that I no longer need to have a tissue in one hand at all times, I’m back to writing, which I better get back to.

New Reviews

We attended a game fair with our son and daughter-in-law this weekend. Granddog Bear was so very excited. It was like taking a kid to a carnival the way he wiggled in line waiting for his turn. We were very impressed by his performances, although we always are, and seeing his abilities compared to other dogs was eye opening even for us. Now we not only think he’s talented, we know it. Furthermore, his manners are excellent. (I felt bad for some of the other dogs behaviors, and their owners.) But then again, Bear did graduate Top Dog with Honors from obedience class recently.

I’ve received several reviews lately –all for the Quinter Bride series. I do miss those Quinter boys, might have to consider moving on to the next generation. Lots of other things to complete first, though.  Anyway…I so appreciate those who take the time to read and share their thoughts on my stories. It’s a perk that always brightens my day. How-Do!

Here’s Bear, Granddog extraordinaire!  

The sweltering, humid days of the temperature reaching over 90 in Minnesota are here. Yes, it’s hot, but I refuse to complain. Summer’s too short for that. We had two high school graduation parties last weekend, my step-grandson James, and great nephew Tyler. So proud of both of them. Great boys with their futures ahead of them. One party had a dunk tank, the other a swimming pool, to help tackle the heat and we had a marvelous time. 

My sister-in-law from Kansas called to say the gals she works with are reading the Quinter Bride Series, and how she had to prove to them I was her sister-in-law.  Between hubby and I, the poor girl was on the phone for over an hour.  My mother read the first drafts of all my books, and said I could write a million books and Guardian Bride-The Quinter Brides Book 4 would always be her favorite. I now believe it was because the spirit of Jonas Quinter, the father of all those boys, appears in that book.  Mom was so ready to be reunited with Dad.

Speaking of The Quinter Brides, I just received this five-angel review on Badland Bride.

Oh, and I must mention, we are no longer dogless. We inherited my mother’s shih tzu, Pooh.  He’s settled in just fine, and follows hubby everywhere, but then he did that before since this was his second home. He’s a nice little dog, and we are enjoying him, however, the neighbor dog’s nose is a bit bent out of shape. 

I completed the edits on one story and sent it in, and am working on the other two, while also outlining another story. Our trip through Wyoming left me with so many wonderful bits of research I have to get them down while they are still somewhat fresh in my mind.

Happy Birthday!

My granddaughter will be one tomorrow! We will celebrate her birthday on Saturday with a large family party. Of course it’s hard to know what she ‘wants’ for her birthday, so I picked out several outfits, Papa on the other hand, he’s going for the candy. She does love to eat, but…We’ll, when all is said and done, that’s Papa’s choice and who am I to correct him.

I don’t have an excuse for not blogging last week. Yes, life is busy, but it always is. I have used every spare moment I can catch working on the fifth Quinter Bride book, but now that I’m close to the end, I’m getting a little nervous. I really like this family and will miss them when there are no more Quinter stories to be told.

Today I signed the contract for the fourth Quinter story, Guardian Bride. I was very excited to get a note from my editor saying she loved the story. My mother had said it’s her favorite, but she has to say that--she’s my Mom.

The sun is shinning, but it snowed again this morning. Time goes fast enough, and I don’t want to wish any days away, but if I had three wishes, one would be “No more snow”! Two and Three….Hmm…I’ll have to think on them.

Renaissance Festival

We went to the Renaissance Festival on Sunday. That’s me riding the elephant with my granddaughter. She wanted to ride it, NOT me. (We are on the second elephant in the picture.)

It was a glorious day, with the perfect amount of sunshine and a light breeze. I can’t imagine wearing the clothing of that age. Yards and yards of heavy fabric went into those dresses! And the jousting! Those poor men were dripping wet beneath their heavy armors.

We walked around, munching on turkey drumsticks, and had a wonderful time, but all in all it reminded me that I’m a western gal at heart. I’d rather have the cowboy with his six-shooter than the knight in shining armor.

This week I’m working on the fourth Quinter Bride story, it’s been calling me to give it some attention. Poor Snake, try as he might, his mother outfoxes him.

I received the contract for the third Quinter Book. Boot Hill Bride—The Quinter Brides Book 3 is now officially on my coming soon list! AND I already got the cover!


The blog bouquet was such fun! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello!

I received three new reviews this week. Two for Doctor McBride. Orchid with The Long and Short of It Reviews, gave it four books, and said, “I enjoyed this story and would love to read more from this author.” And Chrissy with Romance Junkies gave it a 4.5 rating and said, “Lauri Robinson’s DOCTOR MCBRIDE is a wonderful addition to her MCBRIDE series.” And one for Rancher McBride. Joyfully Reviewed says, "Rancher McBride is a super fast paced historical that will make you smile."

I also received the first round of edits for both Boot Hill Bride and A Soldier for Christmas, which will be part of the American Rose Christmas Anthology, so I really have to make the time to work on them this weekend. (I had to take my laptop into the computer guy this AM, and thankfully he has it working as good as new again!)
